The E. W. King Library circulates books, compact discs, audio cassettes, videos, audio-visual equipment, and government documents. All students, faculty and staff wanting to borrow materials must present a valid King College ID card. Students, faculty, and staff may use the computers downstairs, the computer lab upstairs, and the study rooms for free. Printing is free for students, faculty, and staff.
Persons who hold valid borrowing privileges in other Holston Associated Libraries (Emory and Henry College, Tazewell Public Library, and Washington County Public Library) may directly borrow resources from the King Library upon presentation of a valid ID with patron barcode. Material borrowing rules (circulation rules) of the King Library apply to these transactions.

Overdue notices are emailed weekly. These will indicate the items and call numbers of resources that are overdue plus any fines that have accrued. Borrowers are responsible for timely response to these notices.
All materials may be renewed one time unless the item has been recalled or placed on hold by another borrower. After one renewal, the item must be returned before it can be checked out again. Exceptions to this may be made by authorized Library Staff. Renewals may be made by telephone. Fines (see below) that have accrued will still apply even if an item is renewed.
It is also possible to renew your items online. You will need your student ID barcode.

The Library is open to all who use it in a responsible manner. Virtually all resources are available for use within the Library without possession of King College ID card or a Community Borrower card. King College alumni have the same privileges as a Community Borrower.
An information sheet detailing Community borrower privileges is available at the Library's Service Counter.
